Saskatchewan GM Performance: Specializing in GM J, W, and F Bodies.

Founded on July 1st, 2001, SaskJBody offered an outlet for J-body owners in saskatchewan to raise questions and post ideas to a local community. J-Bodies, for those unfamiliar, are a collection of vehicles built around the same platform by GM, they include the following:

-Chevrolet Cavalier
-Pontiac Sunfire
-Pontiac Sunbird
-Pontiac J2000
-Oldsmobile Firenza
-Buick SkyHawk
-Cadillac Cimarron

The site flourished from early in it's life, built on a friendly, tightly-knit community and a simple way to communicate with that community, even from a distance. Since many members were spread across the province and country, there was an emphasis on a specific day of the year, set aside for the SJC bash. It usually consisted of a camping trip or something similar, and always proved to be a great time for those involved.

In 2005, GM discontinued the J-Body platform of Cavaliers and Sunfires, replacing them with the Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5. With this, SaskJBody.org began to feel the impact, slowly but surely, the members began to move on to new cars and new clubs, and enthusiasm for the 'old' J-bodies faded. There were many who still enjoyed their J-bodies, and so SJC remained in tact, but the community was small and the forums moved slowly. By 2006, the decision was made to broaden SJC's focus to the entire GM platform, thus creating Sask GM Performance. With Matt Fuhr, the third president of the site in charge of keeping it alive, the site remains to this day, and has been growing ever since the switch to SGMP. The site now has over 70 active members. We have seen a surge in Grand Prix owner, as well as other GM W-Bodies and a variety of GM and non-GM owners. The forums are very active, with new posts every day and almost one new member per week. Welcome to SGMP, join the party ;) -Brad.
